I have just bought an outdoor light that has 3 connectors N-L the existing wires are red and black.Connection?

Can anyone advise where the red and black wires get connected?

If your in the uk the red is the live and the nauteral is black, connect the red to the L connection and the black to the N connection. Other connection is for the earth.
As already stated thou if in any doubt, call an electrician out, better to be safe than dead.
